With the U.S. presidential election around the corner, President Donald Trump became the victim of a cyber attack. The Trump campaign website, “donaldjtrump.com” was attacked by the hackers for about half an hour and asked to donate Monero from the supporters. President Trump supporters were unable to access the website for about half an hour. As per the notice posted by the hackers, it came out that they wanted to let people know something about President Trump in return for Monero. To a surprise, most of the Trump supporters sent Monero very quickly to the hackers even when they were unable to access the website. Hackers Claim President Trump Spreads Fake-News Regularly Within 30 minutes, the hackers have posted a notice to notify that the website was seized. The hacker went on saying that President Trump spreads fake-news daily and now people have had enough of it. According to the hackers, they somehow gained access to compromised devices through which they gained several crucial information. It also claimed that the Trump administration was involved in the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is still not clear whether this information holds any credibility or not. However, a thing like this coming out during such a crucial time of election might have a major impact on the image of President Trump. Attackers Insisted Users to Send Monero Monero was the highlight of this attack as the hackers insisted the readers to send them Monero in return for sharing the data. According to a spokesperson of the President Trump campaign, the hackers were not able to take any sensitive data from the website. Generally, crypto scams are really normal at present and it seems that Monero is the favorite one of the hackers among all. The reason being that in the past some time, most of the hacks and ransomware attacks were focused on Monero.
