The Government of Gibraltar has recently announced its membership with the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC). It has been named as the official observing member of the GBBC. The Global Blockchain Business Council will be working with some great blockchain industry leaders from around 50 countries across the world. The announcement states that Gibraltar will be working to increase the adoption across the whole territory. Along with this, it will be addressing different topics related to regulation as well as education. This will also help the country to become blockchain-friendly and ease its adoption. Gibraltar Believes Their Mission Is Aligned With the GBBC GBBC was established in 2017, with the main purpose of this council is to strengthen blockchain adoption across the different countries which are its members. Hon Albert Isola, Digital and Financial Services Minister of Gibraltar, has said that their vision is to increase blockchain adoption. It completely aligns with the vision of GBBC and they hope to do this by engaging and educating enterprises. Joined Hands With the INATBA By the start of this year, Gibraltar had joined hands with the INATBA, which is also a blockchain technology group. The group has some popular blockchain industry leaders from the European Union. Moreover, the main focus is to further blockchain adoption and educate people more about it. In September 2020, the country also updated its regulations as per the latest Financial Action Task Force rules. Sundra Rao, CEO of the GBBC, has overwhelmingly welcomed the government of Gibraltar as the observing member of their global network. He mentioned that the council is looking forward to the innovative blockchain technology work from the country. With this, they are hoping to further their collaboration and adoption across the world.
