Maker Foundation Joins Klaytn’s Governance Council

Klaytn blockchain project led by the South Korean Internet giant Kakao has announced that the Maker Foundation has joined the Governance Council of the Klaytn public blockchain. Maker Foundation is the organization behind the Ethereum-based MakerDAO project. Maker Is the 32nd member to Join Klaytn’s Governance Council The Maker Foundation is the 32nd member to join Klaytn’s Governance consortium, joining among the likes of large multinational businesses including LG Electronics, Binance, Celltrion, Union Bank of the Philippines, and others. Following Maker’s recent entry to the governance council will result in closer cooperation between Klaytn and Maker. The Maker Foundation along with the other members will operate within the consensus node network while undertaking its share of platform ownership. Jason Han, the CEO of Ground X, heading the development of Klaytn, said in the announcement: “We are excited for Maker Foundation to collaborate with other Council members for providing a stable foundation for the Klaytn ecosystem. We will also improve the interoperability between Klaytn and Ethereum and build many use cases of digital assets that can seamlessly flow across two chains.” Rune Christensen, CEO of Maker Foundation, added: “Joining the Klaytn Governance Council allows us to work with many high-profile organizations and offers a huge opportunity to bring Dai and DeFi to a much wider audience.” Maker and Klaytn Planning For Jointly Developing K-DAI Use Cases Three months earlier, the Maker Foundation assisted ‘Ozys,’ another blockchain company part of Klaytn’s Governance Council to launch ‘EveryDAI.’ The “EveryDAI” stablecoin intends to connect MakerDAO’s Dai and Klaytn’s KLAY by enabling Dai to be transferred to Klaytn as ‘K-DAI,’ and vice versa. The Maker and Klaytn are also planning for jointly developing use cases of K-DAI among the Klaytn community through research. Both the firms are intending to build the required infrastructure for the various digital assets that are to be transferred across multiple chains.
