It is revealed that he has now started accepting crypto donations for this relief fund. Within just 24 hours, he received a great response from the whole crypto community and the campaign will keep going on, till the end of the year. At present, the fund can raise $5.3 million in donations from more than 53,000 donors. Dave Portnoy Fund Received Huge Donations Through the Giving Block As soon as Dave Portnoy announced to accept crypto donations, it has received a great response from the community and it is revealed that the majority of crypto donations came through The Giving Block. The Giving Block is a crypto donations firm used by Morgan Creek Digital to set up a Bitcoin address for collecting donations. Anthony Pompliano, the co-founder of Morgan Creek Digital, has said that they received $750,000 in donations from the crypto community. He believes that 2020 has been a tough year for the whole world, however, Bitcoin has performed well by giving a new all-time high. He stated: “There is no better way to end the year than with a new Bitcoin all-time high and a few donations to share the love.” The Giving Block Explains Incorporation of Donations Into the Fund Alex Wilson, the co-founder of The Giving Block, has revealed how they have incorporated the donations into the relief fund of Dave Portnoy. He said that once the users visit the Barstool Fund, they will see the option ‘contribute to the fund.’ It will give them two options, either they can choose to generate a wallet address or send the donation from their own. This relief fund is going to be of great help for the small businesses as they have been hit badly by this pandemic. Pompliano has stated that more than 50% of U.S. jobs are dependent on these small businesses only.
