Rapper Soulja Boy is seen in a Cameo video telling people to buy Dogecoin. Cameo is a video service where people can pay celebrities to read their messages. Recently, the rapper has been actively tweeting on cryptocurrencies. He had previously released a song called Bitcoin. Soulja Boy Endorsing to Buy Dogecoin A video has been circulating over social media that shows that Soulja Boy a.k.a. Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em is asking people to buy Dogecoin, saying: “Yo Dogecoin Army, it’s going down man. Make sure y’all tap in for Dogecoin, man, it’s gonna be the crypto of the future. Dogecoin is the people’s coin. Let’s go. It’s your boy, Soulja Boy.” The video apparently belongs to Soulja Boy’s Cameo page, where people can pay $75 for him to read any kind of message he agrees to. However, it remains unclear as to who paid the rapper for endorsing the leading meme-based cryptocurrency. According to CoinGecko, Dogecoin is currently the 37th most valuable cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization. On Jan. 19, Google searches for Dogecoin hit an all-time high following the after-effects of Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk tweeting on the cryptocurrency. Pop Culture Interest Towards Cryptocurrencies Soulja Boy has been recently actively tweeting on cryptocurrencies.  He recently shared his Robinhood stock trading app referral link while asking: What’s the best way to buy Crypto? Robinhood? Coinbase? — Soulja Boy (Drako) (@souljaboy) January 19, 2021 This isn’t the first time that the rapper has been associated with cryptocurrencies. For instance, in 2018 he released a song called Bitcoin that was entirely on buying and selling the cryptocurrency. However, the video also included on Litecoin. Recently, rappers are taking an increased interest in cryptocurrencies. For instance, Lil Yachty launched his own YachtyCoin. Meanwhile, grammy-nominated Megan Thee Stallion announced a $1 million worth giveaway of Bitcoin on Twitter in partnership with Cash App. As cryptocurrency is getting more mainstream awareness, its impact on pop culture is getting becoming more and more evident.
