Internet’s most popular content creator Bart Baker is set to release a series of nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, in collaboration with DeFine Art. As part of the collaboration, Baker will auction eight unique NFTs. The eighth NFT dubbed as “The Bart Baker Experience” will be based on the winner of the auction to make a video with Baker and will be minted into an NFT. The other seven auctions will include Baker’s most popular videos minted in NFT format. Bart Baker Collaborates with DeFine Art Bart Baker is a popular American content creator with more than 10 million YouTube subscribers and more than 3 billion views on his YouTube videos. Popularly known for creating parodies of popular American pop songs, he no longer posts on YouTube. Instead, he makes content for Chinese social media apps such as Kwai and Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. Baker currently has around 24 million followers across multiple Chinese social media platforms. He believes that the NFT trend in Asia has still a long way to go and hopes that he can help in changing that: “NFTs are gaining massive adoption in western markets, but have not yet gained meaningful traction in Asia. Launched just last month, the platform already landed high profile content creators launched including Baker and Korean animator Mari Kim. Commenting on the strategic partnership with Bart Baker, DeFine said: “The partnership with prominent Asia influencer Bart Baker could be the early signal of an Asia NFT boom that has emerged in the West.” While the first experiments with NFTs date back to 2013-2014, the market attracted mainstream appeal in 2021.
