A Norwegian company, engaged in offshore fishing, named Aker ASA announced to establish a dedicated unit in Bitcoin. The amount promised is $6 billion. The newly established entity named Seetee will diligently partner with other companies working in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Dedicated Unit Seetee for Bitcoin The new company, Seetee, dedicated to investing in Bitcoin projects aims to keep the liquid investable assets in Bitcoin. Seetee will focus on investing in and owning bitcoin, joining bitcoin with the broader blockchain community, building and investing in innovation projects, and launching Bitcoin verification operations. According to the official press release, Seetee is capitalized with NOK ($58 million). Aker ASA mentioned that the new Bitcoin unit Seetee initiate a partnership with leading players in the crypto market. From the latest, Seetee has already collaborated with the Blockstream. Making a statement over the recent announcement, the President and CEO of Aker ASA, Oyvind Eriksen said “With the launch of Seetee, the Aker Group makes another move into software and fintech. We are very excited about the industrial opportunities that will be unlocked by Bitcoin and blockchain technology and want to contribute forcefully to that effort. These technologies have the potential to reduce frictions in our day to day lives, enhance the security of our digitally-driven economies, and unlock new business models for innovation.” Bitcoin Mining in Nordic Countries A report by Finance Magnates clarifies that a large number of BTC miners are reported leaving the country and heading towards Sweden and Norway due to cheap electricity prices in the Nordic region. Adam Back, co-founder and CEO of Blockstream said, “It’s exciting to see Aker dive into the Bitcoin ecosystem with enthusiasm.
