Hinting its upcoming Ethereum ASIC miner, the Beijing-based mining hardware giant Bitmain clarified that it could outperform all rival products currently present in the market. The recent statement from the firm is about the launch of its AntMiner E9 soon. However, the announcement did not provide specific details of the technical specifications of the equipment. New Ethereum ASIC can be a ‘Game Changer’ The Bitman claimed that the new Ethereum ASIC miner would prove to be a game-changer and the hash rate of one AntMiner E9 is equal to 32 Nvidia 3080 GPUs, in the latest Tweet. According to miner profitability tracked by F2Pool and Poolin, 8 Nvidia’s 3080 cards jointly deliver 760 mega hashes per second (MH/s) of computing power. Looking at Ethereum’s current price and network difficulty, miners are able to mine 0.04331290 ETH, worth around $90 as of writing, as daily revenue. According to Bitmain’s claim, the AntMiner E9 can compute at roughly 3,040 MH/s. Which will outperform rival products by more than 3x when tested. However, Bitmain didn’t provide details about the E9’s energy consumption or the product’s expected prices. It is also yet to be seen how soon it can ship the E9 amid an ongoing global chip shortage. The Latest Technology in The Market At present, the InnoSilicon’s A10 Pro with a 7GB memory is the most advanced Ethereum ASIC miner on the market. The Ethereum ASIC is capable of producing as much as 740 MH per second. It is reported that F2Pool reviewed a sample unit of the Phoenix Ethash ASIC miner made by Shenzhen-based upstart manufacturer Linzhi past year. This had been under testing for more than two years. F2Pool’s test showed that Linzhi’s hardware delivered 2,733 MH/s. Which is further advanced than most of the top-of-the-line equipment available on the market at the time.
