Moderators of WallStreetBets Reddit group have announced opening exclusive posting for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and DOGE. The group had up until now not allow discussions on cryptocurrencies. The retail trading group known for pumping stocks such as Gamestop (GME) was only limited to the stock market discussion. That seems to be changing with the recent announcement of the forum for allowing crypto posting in the subreddit exclusively for coins such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE). WallStreetBets to Allow Posting on Bitcoin, Ethereum, DOGE The Reddit forum WallStreetBets (WSB) that helped in boosting GameStop stock is expanding its reach to cryptocurrency. The group will now allow a limited amount of cryptocurrency discussion, as it seeks to accommodate members in the community without diverting from its stock market focus. Cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, and DOGE will be allowed to be posted in a single daily thread. A post on April 14 stated: “We’ve decided to allow for discussion about only BTC, ETH, and DOGE only. Inside of a daily Crypto discussion thread as to not burden everyone with crypto spam. All rules will still apply outside of the thread but for now please keep it in the daily thread only as we gauge if this is something that is right for our sub.” With the recent policy on crypto posting, the post noted that the discussion will be limited to a single thread to “not burden everyone with crypto spam.” Reddit Group Welcomes Members to Discuss Cryptos One of the moderators noted that for many years, the Reddit group tried to delay discussion about crypto for many reasons. Among the reasons was that the forum didn’t want the crypto discussion to divert from the group’s core focus to discuss publicly traded stocks. Despite the indifference towards cryptocurrencies, the moderator noted that the subreddit aims to make all members welcome amid the growing interest in cryptocurrencies in the past year. The move comes the same day as Coinbase crypto exchange went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
