Now, the e-commerce giant is joining the green mission of the Chia network. Talking further about Chia, it is a blockchain that makes use of a brand new type of consensus mechanism which is called Proof of Space and Time. The consensus mechanism of XCH can be considered a direct response to the environmental impact of the Proof-of-Work mining mechanism of Bitcoin. In contrast to it, Chia requires available storage rather than computing power, making it much less energy-intensive.
