The Giant Sheetz Convenience store will accept Dogecoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies. The announcement was made on Thursday after collaborating with a crypto payments company, Flexa. Sheetz Convenience Store Will Accept Cryptocurrencies Sheetz will begin accepting cryptocurrencies in certain Sheetz Cafe Stores later this summer, utilizing Flexa’s instant, scalable, and carbon-neutral payments system, with a rollout planned for later in the year for acceptance at Sheetz’s gasoline pumps as well. Sheetz has 622 locations in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland. Sheetz customers will also be able to link their My Sheetz Rewardz loyalty account while using Flexa-enabled applications to pay. “With interest in digital currencies at an all-time high, it’s easy to lose sight of the reality that there are actual, practical benefits for merchants that accept them – not just decreased fraud and cost savings, but also a better and more mobile consumer experience,” said Trevor Filter, Flexa co-founder. “Sheetz is one of the most forward-thinking companies in the industry, and no one knows their client base better than them. We are thrilled that Flexa will be able to assist them in becoming the first convenience and retail chain to accept digital currencies at the pump.” By the end of the year, Sheetz stations will also accept cryptocurrencies for the payment of petrol.
