The local authorities of South Korea have blocked around 32 phishing websites in the past three months. South Korean law enforcement agencies are tightening their monitoring infrastructure to bust the rapidly growing crypto phishing websites which have increased with the rise in the price of crypto assets. South Korea to Bust Growing Phishing Websites In accordance with the recent report published on Sunday by Yonhap, a local media, the ICT ministry of the country is going to collaborate with the National Police Agency to deploy and maintain the infrastructure. In addition to this, it was mentioned in the report that the system will be running a 24-hour surveillance system to detect and smoothly take down fraud websites. Moreover, it was revealed by the ministry that the number of phishing attacks via text messages has grown notably in recent months. These messages redirect the users of the digital currency exchange to websites containing malware and perpetrators that can steal the credentials of the users. Also, it should be noted that till now, the Korean authorities have banned 32 such fraud websites in just a matter of three months, while the count for the last year of these websites was 41. The Financial Market Regulators Getting Strict The police of the country have been actively tracking and cracking down on various platforms on which phishing occurs since last March. In addition to this, the report managed to cover that the police department is investigating around 21 cases that are related to the fraudulent access and selling of cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Remaining one of the top cryptocurrency markets, South Korea offers the opportunity for digital currencies to be sold at a premium rate when compared to the prices in other countries. At present, the market regulators are looking for data from the banks for the identification of all the operating crypto exchanges.
