Ethereum Classic to Undergo Hard Fork Scheduled for July

Ethereum Classic hardfork

Ethereum Classic’s upcoming hardfork will happen at block 13,189,133 scheduled for launch in late July as announced by the developer of Ethereum Classic blockchain Stevan Lohja. Ethereum Classic to Undergo Mantis Network Upgrade in July On June 11th, Stevan Lohja, developer relations manager for Mantis network upgrade announced an upcoming hard for Ethereum Classic to implement the project’s latest version, scheduled for launch in late July. The Magneto upgrade, a client and wallet for Ethereum Classic will include the four Ethereum Improvement Proposals, or EIPs first seen in Ethereum’s Berlin upgrade, according to the official announcement. Back in April, the latter upgrade was launched on the Ethereum mainnet which included several Ethereum Improvement Proposals optimizing gas fees and implemented security enhancements on the network. Announcing the ETC community, Stevan Lohja, developer relations manager for Mantis said: “To ensure a successful fork, we ask ETC consumers to upgrade their node software to a Magneto compatible version if they have not done so already. If you’re not operating nodes or services, but use ETC through other services, then check with that service to ensure they’re supporting the Magneto hard fork.” Etheruem Classic Up by 13 % The original Ethereum blockchain was started by Vitalik Buterin and Gavin Wood in 2015. A year later, there was a hack in the Ethereum network, which resulted in a whopping 3.6 million Ether being stolen. This incident divided the Ethereum community on dealing with the hacking issue. In response, Ethereum Classic was created as a hard fork in the Ethereum blockchain in July 2016. To put it simply, Ethereum Classic is the continuation of the original Etherum blockchain with none of the new features that exist in the new Ethereum network, which got a lot of security and upgrades due to the hack. ETC has surged 694.35% since the beginning of the year and is currently trading at $48, up 13 % from the past 24 hours.
